- If a collateral duty: know how much time has been allocated for HEPM duties.
- Discus with DEEO what you will be expected to do as HEPM.
- If collateral duty: is your regular supervisor aware of your responsibilities and the
importance of your appointment.
- Prepare a list of local, regional & national POC's associated with Hispanic
organizations.
- Meet with other EEO representatives from your activities (i.e., SEPMs, Discrimination
Complaints Managers, Affirmative Employment Program (AEP) Advisory Committee).
- Be familiar with your organization's mission.
- Know and understand your organizations merit promotion system and procedures. This to me
is the most important of all points. Talk with the Human Resources Offices (HROs) since
you will be able to assist them in some hard to fill vacancies.
- Obtain a copy of activity AEP and Federal Equal Opportunity Recruitment Program (FEORP).
Know your underrepresented areas, barriers, strategies and goals.
- Get to know your servicing organization representatives (i.e., PAO, Personnelist
(Staffing/Training/and Computer Specialist), MWR, and department heads).
